Lost surround channels - hdmi setting changed?

I was demonstrating the surround sound of the Beatles' Love DVD in 5.1 for my visiting sister yesterday when I realized that I was not getting any surround sound (pretty impressive demo with no rear sound, huh?). Eventually I found that my audio setting, which had been hdmi-bitstream, was set to hdmi-pcm and my denon receiver was seeing stereo, not 5.1 multichannel. Reset the audio setting and all is well again.

I was running the latest 2010 beta but really have no idea how long this setting might have been changed (may not be related to beta at all).

Has anyone else experienced this? Not a biggie but thought I'd mention it here.

It might have reset the last time you updated the firmware.

Shouldn't. But remember it is beta and things happen. Did you report it to support? They can't fix it if they don't know it's a problem. I'm not using HDMI audio but I do seem to recall one beta awhile back caused some settings to changed. But was fixed in the next release.

but i'm not sure when it happened, so i'm not sure i should report it yet.
i backup up to pre-beta.........i'll set up beta again and see if the problem is reproducible..........if it is repeatable, i'll report it, if not, i don't know if there is value in the report (hence my asking if anyone else was seeing this).

cheers

Go ahead and report it. They can just as easily test in-house. Which they'd have to do anyways to find a fix.
