Any Hardware Suggestions For A CableVision Hookup.
I'm getting ready to make the switch from DirecTV over to Cablevision (Orange County NY) and am looking for hardware suggestions for the new configuration. I'm switching over mainly because I have non-Sage TVs that I also want to use for clear QAM and I can't do this with DirecTV unless I rent a box. Other reasons also but this thread's not about DirecTV vs Cable so I won't bore you with the details.
My goal is to get 2 HD inputs from Cablevision to the server (not just clear QAM, I want all possible channels in HD). See my signature for current configuration. - From what I've found it looks like I'll need two boxes from the cable company but I'm not sure which ones I need. Looking for the simplest solution here.
- I'll also need some new hardware to get the signal into the server. Suggestions?
- What about CableCard? I saw the huge thread but couldn't figure out what was going on there (a lot of theories but no clear answers on whether that's a possibility).
Of course my wife won't let me make the move until the Food Network issue is resolved
Thanks.
