Two SageTV Systems Sharing Disk

Hey Folks,

If I wanted to have 2 pc's running SageTV, each with 2 tuner cards, will I run into problems if I store all the captured video on the same shared disk drive? Do I need to store files in different directories for each system, or can they write to the same location?

Thanks,

Steve

Currently it's a requirement in 1.3.2 beta that if you want 2 machines to coordinate their efforts (so you'd have a 4 tuner system), then they each must have the same drive mappings for the video folders.

If you're going to run 2 separate 2 tuner system that are not coordinated, then they cannot share the same video folder. They can share that drive if you allocate each of them half of the disk to use and create a separate folder for each...(but running it as one 4 tuner system would be much cooler)

FYI - For the networking version the client & server do NOT need to map drives in order to stream. This is currently only a restriction on coordinating capture between multiple machines.
