considering they don't even have screenshots at CES, I'd say not too soon. Just be glad you don't have to spend anything extra for upgrade fees yet, and already have a great DVR...

Heh. I am very appreciative of all that we have today as well as the hard work of all those dedicated people that have taken the program to a whole new level with their addons/plugs/screens/themes etc.

I just remember reading something around the timeframe of Aug/Sept talking about the Phoenix project and how it was going to bring our beloved media portal to a whole new level. Just curious tis all....

the Phoenix project has nothing to do with SageTV7. Phoenix is another 3rd party STV (like SageMC) built upon the sagetv application.

It will be a while, especially if you mean the v7 final release, instead of the betas. Considering nothing was (apparently) shown at CES, I suspect they're several months off from being able to release a demo. In addition, I think this is likely to have a very long beta campaign. The v2 beta campaign was 5 months. The v3/4 campaign was 4 months. And even the v6.6 point release had a 5 month long beta campaign. Some were shorter though. The v6 beta was only about 2.5 months long.

So, I'd guess that we're at least 8 months away from v7 being released.

Oh... From what I read Phoenix was mainly going to be built upon SageTV7. My bad, if we run it on Sage6.x then I'll rephrase my question
