What media can't be playbed back?
I am curious what is and isn't supported. I see this in the manual:
Quote:
What would those "certain other formats" be?

1080i files recorded in H.264 format seems to certainly be one.

Of course, but its a bit weird that they never state anywhere in the manual or on the website what you can actually placeshift. They seem to gear it towards TV, but it can't do all TV recording formats (which they never state anywhere as far as I can tell). It can't do DVD either which they are forthright about.
It's seems awfully open ended as to what can and can't be played back. It would be nice if they actually stated what they support and what they don't support. Seems to be to much wiggle room otherwise. While I am extremely happy with SageTV Media Center and Client products, I have to say my experiences with Placeshifter leave me a bit underwhelmed. Hopefully it will mature in time.

I don't think that description has changed in years, probably was written before there was anyone using H.264 with sage.
