File Cleanup

I have been noticing lately that I have several files left in the recording directories after a show is deleted. I see 5 different types
.txt
.logo.txt
.log
.incommercial
.edl

I see in SageMC a setting to clean up .my files, but wonder if I am missing a setting for the rest of them. Do any of these type files hold "watched" information? If, not I am going to delete them and am hoping for an automated way to do that.
Thanks,

You're using comskip, right? These are left over from it. You need to use whatever program you're using to trigger comskip to also go out there and delete those files when the .mpeg and .ts file no longer exist.

You are absolutely correct! (as usual) I installed and started using SJQ for comskip control awhile ago. When I originally set it up I did place the cleanup file info in SJQ. I must have upgraded or something because after reading your post I went and looked and it was wiped clear.
Will it go back and remove all the orphan files or only from this point forward?
Thanks

It should take care of all the orphan files. (As long as the rule is correct.)

I just happened to browse this thread and saw your post. I am using Dirmon2 + comskip and had forgotten all about the file cleanup feature in Dirmon2 and was busy trying to figure out how to clean up the recording folder. Thank you.

I wanted to piggyback off this thread and ask people who are running dirmon2 how they got it to delete their "incommercial" files. It deletes the edl, text and log files, but the incommercials stay. I editied my cleanup rule and added"incommercial" to the list after stopping dirmon2. I then uninstalled, reinstalled and started up again and the incommercials still remain. Is there anything I am missing?

Thanks

What's a "incommercial" file? What are they used for and what is the extension for that file type? I only have .edl, .vprj, .log and .jpg which clean up fine. Did you just add the extension for the cleanup?

This is the file:
XXIWinterOlympics-OpeningCeremony-382142-0.incommercial

I think it is because I have live_tv=1. I added it to the cleanup file rule, and it delets everything else except the .incommercial

While I don't know why it WOULDN'T clean it up if it was in the rule, I still have no idea what that file is for. Never seen anything make an .incommercial. Are you sure it's spelled right in the cleanup rules?

I have noticed that I am starting to get a lot of these .incommercial files and I think Comskip or SJQ are generating them. Does anyone know if this is similar to an edl file or what they are?
Thanks
