Rename drive connected via USB
I am trying to rename a drive that I've connected to the USB port on the HD200. Obviously, there is no 'rename' command via the HD200 GUI. There is also no 'rename' command when I browse the drive via my PC on the network.
I've also tried to telnet into the HD200 and used the command sequence: cd /tmp/extender mv <current_drive_name> <new_drive_name> I get an error saying that the drive is busy. I wanted to umount it but I got scared since I am not a Linux savvy user. Any advice? The reason why I want to change the name is because the default name is really long and absurd. |

If this is using fat32 or ntfs you can plug the drive into a Windows pc open Windows explorer right click on the drive and select rename.

Either Ext2ifs http://www.fs-driver.org/
or Ext2fsd http://www.ext2fsd.com/ should do the trick. Both will work on XP but only fsd will install on Win 7. |
