PlayOn on sale via Yugster for $14.95 till early morning hours of 12/18/09

Yugster has PlayOn on sale for another 13 hours and 30 minutes from this original post. It shows as $19.97, but use Code YUGSAVE5/20 to make it $14.97.

Cheapest I've seen in a long time and perfect for those people wanting to start using the new PlayOn STVi.

Get it while you can at this price. It won't last long.

EDIT - changed ending time. It looks like Yugster is running the same deal today as well. Approx 20 hours left since the update.

Awesome! Thanks for the heads up. Christmas shopping for my brother-in-law is done. I was just about to buy Playon for him for 19.00 through Playons gift program and that was a good price!

Thanks for the post and perfect timing too... I had just installed the trial last night and already decided that I wanted to purchase it. Saving more than 50% always makes me happy

I'm a registered user since Sept. I'd say that if you care about hulu, I'd hold off on buying it until they get the recent hulu issues worked out. They recently went from capturing the flv stream and transcoding it directly to a decent quality mpeg2 stream, to having to render the flash video, then capture the rendering and encode that as mpeg2. At least for me, the resulting streams are so jittery and loose audio sync so often as to be nearly unwatchable. Worse than a hand-held handycam capture..

Ok thanks.

At 40 bucks and the word is hulu is going to start charging, I don't think I will be installing Playon any time soon.

BTW, Hulu playback is definitely working again. It just took them a few patches to get it right. Be aware that you may run into CPU problems now since the video is being played back in Hulu player w/o hardware acceleration while its being encoded, but if you install the flash 10.1 beta it should be much better.

I went to GameFly, they said you have to follow the link. What's the link (minus the email address)? Or how does one go about getting the offer?

Sign up for a 14 day trial of Play-on and check the box to be put on the mailing list. http://www.playon.tv/

The link I have errors if I take out my address.

But try this, sign up for the Play-on trial, select to be included the mailing list and see if this link below works with your email address, replace the xxx@yyy.com with the email address you gave them.

http://www.playon.tv/playon/lp/speci...id=2&prmcd=Feb 2010

OR

Maybe just try it first without signing up for the Playon trial and see what happens.

For others: This deal still works - the $19.97 deal as of today 2-28-2010.

I'm pretty well screwed, since I don't run windows, and rely on running playon in a VM. Hulu is still jerky/stuttery as hell for me. But other sources (like the
SyFy plugin) are fine.
