Need help from a WHS user!
I have been having trouble with my Sage/WHS server so I had to reinstall. After install I had some issues with corrupt files and I appear to have lost all of the files in my \\server\shared\public folder. Would someone be kind enough to zip up these files and send them to me via a PM or send me a PM and I will get back to you. Thanks.
Note - as long as you haven't customized the web login screen then these files should be just the stuff that is installed by WHS for your default web page. They are some aspx files, html, dlls, etc. Thanks for your help!

Hey Wayner, I'd be happy to help but my public folder is empty?

The public folder is supposed to be empty. Which folder were you talking about?

Oh - I appeared to have a folder called Webpages and several files off of this - perhaps these were installed by one of the Addins I was using for WHS - such as WHIIST. There is a folder \Public\Webpages\bin with a MetaDataExtractor.dll file. For some reason I am having problems access my WHS web page from external addresses and I thought that these were required for non-LAN web access.
Then something else is broken for my web access. I am pretty sure that it isn't my router as I am still forwarding the same ports as I was earlier. When I reinstalled WHS a few days ago I turned on internet sites and everything was good. I don't know that I tested since I installed the final time. For some reason today I am not able to access my WHS machine from the web.

is the server on a static IP LAN address for port-forwarding? And those settings are saved to non-volatile memory in the router?
do you have or need to use a dynamic IP address service for your ISP-controlled public IP address? |

It is on a static IP and the ports are forwarded. I use DynDNS but my homeserver site should also work. But earlier it wasn't working even when using my assigned IP address - i.e. http://64.221.34.5 (or whatever).
It might have been a temporary issue since it now appears that I can log on using my DNS or home server URL from other PCs on my LAN (which I don't think worked before) but I will have to wait until I try from work tomorrow to verify.
