audio Decoder question

I installed Windvd on my client since i was having problems getting any video or audio. Now with the intervideo decoder video is fine. Audio though is not right on "live tv". Playing back sage recordings seems to be correct, but with live tv all i get is a low garbled static sound.
Any ideas?

Stuart

Sounds like you may need to upgrade your Hauppauge driver?

http://www.shspvr.com/forum . Don't forget to follow SHS' directions.

Or, perhaps just change audio decoders (you don't have to use the same brand for audio and video).

The Hauppauge card is in the server. It seems like I can't install the drivers on my client, or am I wrong ?
I tried installing hcwsmd04_xxxx.exe but got an error about a missing dll , so I went ahead (even though as I said no Haup card on the client) and installed the pvr250_18_xxx.exe (the card drivers) thinking it would allow me to then install the decoder. However when i ran hcwsmd I received a message about an ivac driver missing .

Actually I was suggesting the possibility to upgrade the Haupp driver on the server, or to switch audio decoders on the client... it has been recommended before when audio problems have been reported to use the "Default" audio decoder (it's the one that comes with Windows).
