Question Canadian Line-up Plugin Question

I'd like to try the Canadian plugin, but have a question. My understanding of integrated EPG data is that Sage will go and get updates whenever it needs to - similar to the way your satellite receiver goes after guide data when you need to access it. However, I am not on a real-time Internet connection. Because my DirecPC setup relies on a dial-up return, I cannot keep my connection up full-time. Right now, I have a Windows macro program connecting in the middle of the night to run my xmltv updates, then it disconnects. Is integrated data out of the question for me or is there a way I can "batch" the updates at a scheduled time each day?

Out of curiosity, I loaded the plugin and gave it a try. After some initial difficulties, things are now working great. Just a tip: If you're loading multiple line-ups, exit and restart Sage after the addition of each tuner. For me, it avoided a lot of the issues reported by others. On my first 2-3 attempts, I did not do this, and I ended up with duplicate line-ups for each source, blank line-ups for 2 of my 3 line-ups, etc.

Anyway, as for "batching" my guide updates, I'm going to tackle it a different way. Sage seems to want to update my guide on start-up. So, because of my semi-dialup Internet feed, I'm going to use my Windows screen macro program to connect to the net at 3:00 in the morning, then exit and restart Sage. I'll have it navigate to the Live TV guide. An hour later, I'll put Sage back to sleep and disconnect from the net. Should work...
