problem getting sagetv to change the channels on my cable box

I am trying to figure out how to do this whole record tv thing. I've already tried the built in MCE in windows 7 RC and it works well except that it records in some wierd .wtv format that I can't convert to any other useable format. I guess I could be able convert it, but it says the files are copy protected.

I've tried several other programs including SageTV and beyondTV, and SageTV is the only one so far that I have somewhat got to work.

My problem is that it won't change the channel on my cable box. My cable box is a Scientific Atlanta Explorer 3250. I assume to make it change the channels i need the IR blaster set up.

I have the MCE remote w/ the IR blaster and it was setup and everything worked under MCE. Whenever I change channels in SageTV nothing flashes on the IR blaster so I don't think the signal is going through. Is there someway to set up the IR blaster to work in SageTV?

Sage doesn't natively support the ir blaster for the MCE remote. Look at the LM Remote software or another 3rd party like EventGhost or Girder. LM Remote by Stephane
