Custom Bitrate 2.35GB/HR (2HR DVD)

I've successfully created a 2.35GB per hour custom bitrate (constant) called My235.

Ideal to archive 2 hours onto a DVD with no waste.

I reduced the default audio bitrate to 224K. There is a noticeable video improvement over the default 2GB. Sounds just fine too.

This works on 1.4.1. for the Haup PVR-250 card (may work for the 350)

Here's the entries added to Sage.propterties
(it took some trial and error -- the math just didn't add up exactly right):

The two lines were inserted in alphabetic order, so they're not right next to each other.

If this is for dvd-r, than why are you using 44100 audio? I am a newbie to SageTV so maybe this is suppose to be the way. Just asking.

Dropping the audio down to 44100 would be more akin to a setting for VCD. Doing this would allow more room on the DVD for video but still sound OK, I believe.

These settings are not for making "Standard" DVDs.
I simply burn the mpeg files onto the DVD (data DVD) and play them as "Library" videos.
44.1K sample rate is the sample rate for CDs -- more than enuf.

I do not believe that 44100 frequency means a lower audio file size than the same bitrate of a 48000Khz audio file.
VCD is 224kbps or 1.6 megabytes per minute.
However you could have dvd standard 48000 and have the bitrate at 192kbps or 1.37 megabytes per minute

So you could get more room for video just by putting the bitrate down rather than the frequency.
I put all my captures onto dvd-r and I get about 5 hours(decent enough quality for older series) using 352x480, 48khz 192kbps and 1.75mbps video bitrate.
