Right now, i'm working on some improvements for PlayOn's built in content (Hulu, Netflix, CBS, etc.) but i'm not even looking at the plug-ins. If people come up with something nice please be sure to share it with the rest of the class.

To get things started, here's a working draft of my auto-generated files that contain *all* of Hulu's TV shows Clearly, there's some trimming down that needs to be done manually, so feel free to take a pass at it
EP, are you seeing CBS TV Shows in your Online Videos? I loaded these new files, made some adjustments for plugins but I can't seem to find CBS. I see the category and feeds in the files but I don't see the category in Sage.

Nope, this one's just Hulu. Writing a script for CBS is going to be easy so I haven't done it yet.

I assume you meant NOT going to be easy? I recall that the first version had a CBS category even though some weren't populated yet like The Mentalist. What's odd is that I see the CBS code in this file but nothing shows up in the Online section.

Shouldn't this code work like before?

Code:
#CBS TV Shows
xFeedPodcastCustom/CBSBigBang=xPodcastCBSTVShows;"PlayOn:CBS:PrimeTime:The Big Bang Theory:Full Episodes:+2"
xFeedPodcastCustom/CBSColdCase=xPodcastCBSTVShows;"PlayOn:CBS:PrimeTime:Cold Case:Full Episodes:+2"
xFeedPodcastCustom/CBSCriminalMinds=xPodcastCBSTVShows;"PlayOn:CBS:PrimeTime:Criminal Minds:Full Episodes:+2"

Did you modify the customsources line in each file?

Like this example

Quote:
Note that you will also need to add "xPodcastFNShows" and "xPodcastHGTV" to the "CustomSources" in each file.

Some of those don't have episodes in them according to the upnpinspector. For example I have CBS and NCIS shows 2 episodes as does The Big Bang and CSI: Miami. The Mentalist have no episodes showing and Old Christine isn't even listed. Use the upnpinspector to determine what should work and shouldn't.

You're right, it's missing from the customsources line in the links file.

Thanks.

CBS shows not showing

BTW: for those that are having problems with CBS shows not showing up, I got a response from Playon about this issue. basically playon gets their feed from cbs.com\video and not all shows are in this feed. Even though the show shows up if you go to cbs' main site and go to their full episode link. It is not the same as where playon gets it's feed.

Just rename the TXT’s to PROPERTIES and overwrite the old. Located here:

C:\Program Files\SageTV\SageTV\STVs\SageTV3\OnlineVideos

Actually, you probably should back up your originals first just in case…

Do only the items listed in these two files configure what's available in sage/online items?

Does adding plugins through the playon interface and playonplugins.com actually allow sage to see the additional sources?

Ok, I am trying to learn how to create my custom links for other shows...the below is just an example.

If I navigate Hulu through my browser I find the show "firefly" with a url of http://www.hulu.com/watch/4569/firef...ity#s-p1-so-i0

When I look at the CustomOnlineVideoLinks file, I am having trouble understanding the logic.

I read the below line as such:

xFeedPodcastCustom/FoxReality_Solitary=xPodcast_FoxReality;PlayOn:Hulu:TV Episodes:S:^Solitary$:+2

{custom podcast feed}/{channel}_{show name}={xpodcast}_{show name};{playon}:{Hulu}:{category of item}:{letter item starts with}:{^show name$}:+2

What I don't understand is how does the above line get directed to the actual url?

If I wanted to build a entry for the firefly episode above, How would I do that?

I apologize if the answer has been starring me in the face, I just don't see it.

It does not need to get the URL from that. Since it does not start with "http" EP tweaked Sage to simply just start the UPnP2Podcast.exe in those cases and use the output of that executable as the rss feed.

So I installed PlayOn and this EP's plugin a few days ago, and everything has been working well, I ran into this thread and added the files EP posted above. All the menu items show up and I can follow that the folders in the links file line up with what I see in Upnp Inspector, but when I try to load the videos for one of these shows, It always says. "No videos were found"

All the original links that came in the install file work fine including the hulu stuff. But when I add this nothing new works. I get the show names and thumbnails but no episodes download and the xml file does not change.

Any ideas?

Can someone give me a hand?

I can't seem to get the UPNP inspector to run. Says I am missing libglib-2.0.0.dll

I don't want to just download some unknown dll into my system ... Is there a safe download site? Am I missing something else?

Thanks!

I'm trying to take baby steps here. I installed the HGTV Playon plugin and it is enabled in Playon.

This is my CustomOnlineVideoLinks_UPnP2Podcast_HGTV.properties file:

Code:
CustomSources=xPodcastHGTV

xFeedPodcastCustom/HGTVHHunters=xPodcastHGTV;"PlayOn:HGTV:House
Hunters:+2"
This is my CustomOnlineVideoUIText_UPnP2Podcast_HGTV.properties file:

Code:
Source/xPodcastHGTV/LongName=HGTV
Source/xPodcastHGTV/ShortName=HGTV

Category/HGTVHHunters/LongName=House Hunters
Category/HGTVHHunters/ShortName=House Hunters
When I select Online Services > HGTV > House Hunters it says "No videos were found". What am I doing wrong? Thank you!

That .dll is part of the GTK2 Runtime which should have been installed with UPnP Inspector. If you manually chose not to install it during the UPnP Inspector installation, you'll have to reinstall and be sure allow the installer to install GTK2 Runtime. If the runtime is installed, then something is wrong with the installation and you should either try to reinstall it or contact the UPnP Inspector author to report the problem.

I believe the files posted in the first post are deprecated. All properties are auto-downloaded and auto-updated in seperate .properties files by UPnP2Podcast now.
