Hauppauge HD PVR Tiling/Choppiness

Hello,

I just purchased SageTV Media Center and a Hauppauge HD PVR. It is hooked up to Comcast HD receiver (5200?) and video looks fine when using the TotalMedia Extreme software that came with HD PVR. However, when trying to view through SageTV there is extreme choppiness and pixelling/tiling. I have tried several different video settings in SageTV, I have updated the HD PVR driver to the latest version, and I have formatted the HD partion to 64K block size. Are there any suggestions on why I'm having so much trouble initially? Thanks in advance.

At a guess, the CODEC you are using. You need to make sure you are using a good H.264 (?) CODEC. I couldn't get good playback until I started using the Windows 7 M$ CODEC.

Please list OS and hardware, so others can suggest what CODEC is best.

This may also help.

And as MattHelm said, check what video decoders you're using with Sage. If you have TMT2 installed on your playback machine (the version that came with your HD-PVR) those decoders should work just fine. Be sure those are the ones you have selected in Sage.

Resolved

Thanks everyone! I finally found that I needed to download DirectShow Filter Manager and register my Arcsoft codec. After that I was able to select it and it worked fine. I appreciate the help!
