Question DVBLink and SageTV

DVBLink is software developed by www.dvblogic.com that presents virtual BDA DVBS adapters (along with EPG streams) to the operating system where products such as MCE, VMC, Mediaportal, GBPVR, etc can use them as sources.

As a proud owner of a Dreambox which will act as a source for DVBLink I am very keen to have the DVBLink product work with SageTV. It will mean that I don't have to use IR blasters and that my picture quality will be significantly improved.

I notice that its predecessor (DVBBridge) used IPTV support and this was made to work with SageTV http://dvblogic.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=1166.

My question is this, is there anyone (from the community or SageTV) that would be ready to work with me and get this going? I will commit to publishing our findings/results/how to's

People have said 'it shouldn't be too hard' but alas its not been done.

Cheers Houli

P.S I notice my associate is using DVBLink successfully (fed from a Dreambox) in Win7MCE.

Thanks DVBLogic. I will most certainly use that and your services on the journey.

I really need someone who understands SageTV's config files (BDA's drivers, transponder files, etc) and the assocaited registry requirements. I'm pretty sure I'm going to need .LNB and .FRQ files which I understand will list the virtual sat into and virtual channels.

Suffice to say that I've got the server running but its not appearing as a opion in the 'add source' menu.

SageTV Log showing it can at least see the BDA adapters

Can anyone help me to understand what the SageTV log is saying about the 4 virtual BDA adapters the SageTV 6.6 is pickup up on startup?

I have some information about creating encoders (which JRKiwi provided so I could get my HVR4000 to work) but would like to know how I like entries in Sage.Properties to these adapters.

I am happy/ready to modify the PredefinedDVBS.FRQ file for a 'DVBLink' satellite.

I'm also ready to create an LNB file for the adapter once I can decode what SageTV "knows" so far.

Ideas?

I also use SageTV and Media Center (with DVBLink) on the same box, and I am told it is a bad idea. That having two competing live tv recording programs not only causes conflicts, but will use/lock the HDPVR driver in the background and not let the other access it sometimes; among other issues. I know that does not answer your question, but I guess I would ask...why are you using both. I am trying to get Media Center to be fully functional so I can ditch SageTV, but I cannot get the IR Blaster to work with my STB, Grr!!
