Considering HD200
Hey
I have been using Sage for 2 years now and been quite satified with it. A few month ago I skipped Sage i favour of Vista MCE because of the missing subtitle support in Sage. I know that the latest version of Sage supports subtitle but I could not get it to work on my two MVP extenders. Anyway Vista MCE turned out to be nothing but trouble so i am back at SageTV. So before I buy a HD200 I would like to know if the subtitle works - (I use a DVB-C tuner with CI and viacces cam). I can see in the spec. that it supports different kind of subtitle but quite frankly I donīt know which kind my cable provider use. Another thing about the MVP is that it is very slow on responding to the remote - how is it on the HD200? Last - I live in Europe so there is the question about Pal/Ntsc. Does the HD 200 support Pal. |

Subtitles work only 'ok' on the HD200. If you increase the font size too much the subtitles fall off the screen, making this option somewhat limited. When there are compatible subtitles you can select them (e.g. CC1) and it there aren't then you can't change the setting. Sorry, don't know about the different subtitle formats.
HD200 response from the remote is generally very good. A few of us have ongoing issues with recent firmware updates that still haven't been resolved. I am still using 20090505 as anything newer doesn't work well on my system. |

There's another thread discussing that I think Sage doesn't have DVB subtitles working yet.

The remote is a lot more responsive than the MVP's, and it does support PAL.

I use a Windows Vista Ultimate computer as the Server to Run SageTV through a SiliconDust HR-200 (or vice versa or however that works). I can get the Captioning to show on the TV but not on the Computer Monitor. Strangely, both show Captions as "Off" -- Caption size is set at 15.
What's up with that? |

BTW how does the HD200 handle the UI animations - My MPVīs certainly are undepowered to show proper animations... |
