Hi Snipeman,
I am also looking at the same Mobo. What cpu and ram are you going to use with it? Do you have it running yet. This is my first system build from scratch and just wondered.

At the moment, I'm running a Core 2 Duo 6600 and 2GB of Patriot DDR2 800Mhz memory.

The only reason I'm doing this is that's what I had lying around. I'll probably change the CPU and memory later when I upgrade another system.

I'm a fanatic for energy savings and cool / quiet HTPCs. So I'd only consider new chips that run at 65W. Use the Newegg website and plug that in as your 1st requirement and see what's available at what price points. I usually buy CPU's when they drop below $200. I'm pretty patient, if I don't like what I see in regards to the money, I just wait. It all comes down eventually.

The motherboard is excellent by the way. I've had zero problems. The only thing from my old setup is my wiz.bin file!

Hmm avoid Realtek NIC that got to be wrong I have had Realtek NIC for min min years and I never had any problem with them not even the oldest ISA model what want to is avoid Realtek Audio but just about every motherboard come with that crap on board sound I perf Sound Blaster
