Third Party App for Channel Changing

Can anyone tell me if it is possible to interface with a third party application from SageTV to handle the channel changing event?

I have so far been unable to get SageTV to correctly change the channel on my DirecTV receiver. A little over a year ago I wrote a program that interfaced with DigiGuide to change the channel on that receiver and start a recording program and that worked fine.

What I would like to do is interface with SageTV so when it is time for it to change channels it will call my program, pass it the channel number and my software will change the channel.

Is this possible?

Thanks for the tip. Are there any instructions step by step on how to get this to work? I have wasted anothr two hours trying to get this to work tonight but to no avail.

I am using 1.4.10. I went in and registered the dtvcmd application. I copied the DLL to the common directory, but there is evidently another step of telling Sage to use this plug in for changing channels. I went into the sage.properties file and changed mmc/sfir_dev_name to point to the DLL, but I'm not sure if something else needs to be updated. I saw one message that talked about going into Sage and selecting the "Exe tuner plug in option", but I can't find this option anywhere.
