I found the 3/29 version here, but I can't find anything recent on the SourceForge Project page. Does it have some other home page?

http://athos.leffe.dnsalias.com/ (or you could build it yourself from source via SourceForge).

Please excuse my ignorance on this subject,

Can I use it with my NVDVD codec, which I have running on overlay right now?

Yes. I've used it with NVDVD 2.55 & 3.

It's not released yet. Viewsonic (I think) accidently released it a few weeks ago but it didn't work for everybody. FWIW you can get 2.55 from newegg for $7.

And if you ever owned 2.55 nVidia had just sent out a CD to those owners with 2.55 on it. You may be able to still request it from them. Make sure you have a receipt (email) from the purchase. I did grab 3.0 from Viewsonic when it was available....for testing purposes.

i highly doubt it will be a free upgrade and when asked in the avs forum the nvidia rep wouldn't comment if there might be even a discount.

gerry, since you were in the minority that could actually get the viewsonic file working - do you think this is related to the fact that you're using nvidia cards?

seemed like all the radeon folk struck out.

i finally managed to get myself a copy of that file and it wont work on my laptop (usual zoom player pin error) which has an ati video card. i have an msi 5900xt coming in the mail shortly so it will be interesting to see if it will work with that.

what are your impressions of it since you're one of the lucky few that has been able to see the alleged quality?...for testing purposes and all

Quality is better. I'm getting no tear with VMR9. What is also nice is v3.0 has its own nVidia post processor. You can define ffdshow as a second post processor. It has a checkbox for 3:2pulldown. You could also just use ffdshow as the only postprocessor. It does seem to take advantage if you have nVidia hardware. I can set the deinterlacing as adaptive pixel. I think some apps still need to take advantage of the new version. If I run Sage and bring up nVida from the system tray the properties sheet looks like it does for 2.55. You don't have all the new settings-just the original settings from 2.55. But the app does use all the new settings.
