@razrsharpe: I added a couple of items from these discussions to the tracker, but I didn't see a way to flag them as something other than "defect".

and thanks for adding them to the site, now i wont forget about them a general FYI.... we're talking about the TVE google code site. That is where i am keeping track of any/all issues... feel free to report them there EDIT: i added a new report template ... so you should be able to choose the enhancement template now which will have the Type set correctly...

I figured it's the least I could do for stuff I'd like added/fixed. I know that fixing the filters so that you can combine them is in the works for v2, as is the "jump" capability, so I didn't think I needed to add them.

No Filters : Both Movies and Imported show. If I have imported and recorded (or imported converted to recorded) then I get two groupings for those shows. Include: Only Movies show. Exclude: Neither Movies nor imported shows appear on the list. Does that make sense?

re: no filters and multiple groups:.... this should not happen... as long as the title is the same (non case sensitive, punctuation included) they should group together... i just confirmed that this does work. The recorded title and imported tv need to match... ie what titles are displayed for the two groups? If they are identical they should be grouping together.... This is true for imported TV that is not imported as sage recordings... for imported tv that is imported as sage recordings the title mask in BMT needs to be set to only the title (it should be like this by default (as of 3.1...)....

Thanks for checking on the filter situation. Insofar as the grouping here are two properties files. The first one is for an imported video turned into a Sage recording and it groups with the others in the series which were also converted:

going purely by the .properties files those should group correctly... can you attach the screenshot for those files from the bmtweb interface (you can attach the jpg to the post with "Manage Attachments"... underneath the reply editor)?

yup both of those should group correctly (from my understanding of what maps to what, etc, etc)... i will try sometime in the next couple days to install bmt 4.0 (still using 3.1), and recreate your filenames and structure and see what happens...

Hopefully this bit of info will help.
Earlier on in the thread I pasted the webserver info for an episode of one of the series that was not showing unless I used the movies filter: [Notice the show id information] Gilligans Island/Season 1/Gilligan's Island Episode: Gilligan's Island Aired: Apr 1, 2010 7:23 AM - 7:48 AM Duration: 25 m Description: The shipwrecked castaways awaken to find themselves marooned on an uncharted island, so Gilligan and Skipper set out on a flimsy raft to find civilization. Category: Comedy - 1964 Run Time: 30 minutes Show ID: MF1109065 With my limited knowledge I believe that "MF" represents imported. If I were to convert this to a sage recording either by using the webserver or BMT then the prefix of the ID will change to "EP". In playing around with the info button while focused on a given episode I noticed that the information provided circles around to one view which includes the show id. By doing this I was able to determine that the different grouping appear to occur because the grouping seems to be using the prefix at least of the show id. In the case of the two AF episodes linker earlier in the thread the one not appearing is "MF" the one appearing as well as the others in that group on that series are "EP". I checked every single show with multiple showings and that is what the groupings appear to have in common. Not sure if it is just pure coincidence but thought to pass it along in case it helps.

I don't know if this would even be technically possible, but thought I'd throw it out there. You know how Windows 7 (maybe Vista, too... never really used it) indicates download progress by filling in the window's taskbar entry? Would it be possible to do something like that for the watched progress in the episode listing or even group listing for movies? Not real time or perfectly accurate, rather I'm thinking of something in 1/8th or 1/10th increments. So, if you've watched some of an episode, but haven't reached the 1/8 mark of the show yet, the episode listing would indicate that with some sort of transparency overlayed on the episode title, shading in 1/8th of it's title listing.
If it's possible, I'd much rather have something like this versus the "partially watched" icon.

@skirge - ya that's definitely possible... and actually probably not that difficult... in fact if you ever use the malore browser it does this... i never implemented it in TVE bc i didnt like how it looked... but then again i dont like how most of malore looks (hence why i wrote tve in the first place ) ... add an enhancement request to the project site so i dont forget about

Thanks for posting that! Enable Malore Menus? What? And give up my precious TVE?!?! Blasphemy!
That said, what's in that image is definitely what I was thinking about. I'd have to see how well it overlays on the fanart before passing judgement, though. I was picturing a transparent, light gray which would hopefully be subtle, yet noticeable, but not dark enough to make the fanart unreadable.

I think that looks okay, so long as it doesn't hide too much of the fanart. That's what drew me to the overlay instead. The thick bars plucky is showing seem too big for my taste. I also quickly noted that there weren't any fanart images on that shot. (Freudian slip? j/k) Then again, too thin and you won't be able to see the line. I could see a bright yellow line being used to ensure it's visible, but I could also see someone looking at it and thinking that the fanart image had a glitch!
