Avermedia Support?

Was wondering what all Avermedia cards are supported. I saw that I can get the AVerMedia UltraTV Media Center PCI 500 card for a decent price, but wasn't sure if it worked with Sage or not.

Wish they had a better list of what's supported and what's not on their web page. (Hopefully with 2.0 they'll update their list to be a little more informative ).

I too would like to know the answer to this. I'm also looking at the Avermedia Ultra TV 500.

Thanks,
Greg

AVerMedia UltraTV™ 1500 MCE is a BlackBird so it should work with SageTV

A post on AVS stated that the 1500MCE was the same card as the 150MCE but that it's packaged with some "non-MCE" software.

Avermdedia M179 does NOT work with SageTV 2.1 and later...
The program keeps listing the m179card in the list of encoders to ignore

AFAIR the M179 is no good anyway whereas the M150 is a decent (and cheap) card.

guys, I have read about the tuner quality issues on previous M179.
I own two M179 ( got them directly from AVERMEDIA ) and the video quality is Excellent. Image is Sharp, and video is very smooth even in sport events with fast zooming and panning. I could send you an test video if you would like to see yourself. Sage worked fine until 2.0 ! Frey should remove M179 from the supported card list.

If it's on the supported list, and broken, you should file a support request, they may not know it's broken.

Speaking of BS, save some additional on the shite factor by not getting a Roslyn/Blackbird card

Had to throw in my continued hatred of those cards

AND...

Just to settle part of the question...I have three(3) AVerMedia UltraTV™ 1500 MCE's in my htpc. They play fine with SageTV. Record multiple shows at the same time. Zero problems, better picture than my friend has with hauppauge. And I can record FM radio on them.
