[Bug]Intelligent Recording overrides Favorite

I had Smallvile as a favorite. Two actually, one for rerun and one for first runs. I'm not sure why I had two, but there you go.

On Wednesday, it currently comes on twice at 8 and 9. The 9:00 was recorded because IR decided to record Enterprise on one tuner and Extreme Makeover on the second.

Sounds like a bug.

You mean the 9:00 one _wasn't_ recorded? Had you recorded & watched that episode at some point in the past? If it was watched, it wouldn't get recorded again.

what? Does this timeframe of watching a show ever expire? Lets say the same episode of the Simpsons I just watched tonight aires in 2.5 years (and I am still using Sage 2), are you suggesting that it will not record that episode? Even though 2.5 years from now it will be practically new to watch again. And if you are suggesting it will never record that episode is there a way to disable this feature short of marking everything 'not watched'?

Thanks,
Brett

Not currently; it is an often requested feature to be able to have it expire or be able to edit it in some way. "Watched" means never having to say "I saw this show before".*

*This is only true when a show has a unique show ID. Some shows don't & can never be marked as watched. Nearly every "Whose Line" has the same ID, for example.

Edit: As Stanger89 mentions in the next post, I obviously misworded that last statement. I meant that the shows can't be remembered as watched once the episode is deleted. While the shows are still in SageTV, the watched/not-watched status works correctly. Sorry if that was confusing.

Well, you can still mark it as watched and Sage knows it can delete it, but since there aren't unique identifiers for the shows Sage will continue to record them all to be safe.

The 9:00 was a season two episode and I'm fairly certain I've never seen it through Sage.

OK, I was just trying to rule that out. If it isn't listed in italics in the LiveTV Guide, then it was not watched via SageTV... if it isn't a bug, I'm not sure what else might have caused it.

That episode isn't on at another time is it? I'm not sure that's correct behavior either but it may have simply scheduled it for a different time as opposed to skipping it completely.

stanger89 is right, confirm it does not come on Sunday. If sage can reschedule the recording and still grab something else it will do so.

I'll check that if it is coming on later. They do run it on Sunday.

I was also wondering if there was a problem with the having two Smallville entries. I probably wasn't paying attention when I set it up, but I removed one and changed the other to first-runs and reruns.

What if the 9:00 started late, say 9:01. Could the IR shows have jumped in, ousting Smallville?
