Custom menu question
I have been reading about STV's and am lost.
I an using the SageTV Media Center ONLY to stream my Ripped Blu-Ray movies to my HD-200. I do not watch any TV or record any movies with the media center. If I could figure out how to load a custom STV in the media center, will that show when I use my HD-200 on my TV? or do I have to edit the menu in the HD-200? All I want to see on the opening menu is Photos, Video's & Online Services. I was able to see all the different STV's available for download, but I was unable to find a step-by-step instructions on how to change the STV. I appreciate the help. |

without going into a lot of details, it seems like you'd be better off just running in standalone mode for what you are attempting to set up. No need to run anything on the PC's.

I agree with Fuzzy, but if you still wish to manipulate your menu the easiest way I know of is using dynamic menus. If you install SageMC you’ll have access to dynamic menu support via the ESC key. From there you can add and remove components to your liking.
Additionally, the things you change via dynamic menus will be what you see on your HD200. http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/down...do=file&id=141 also has instructions on how to load the STV. |

Hey, guys. This guy is new. Let's lay it out for him...
You can't change the menu of the HD200 in Standalone Mode, so... You have two choices: Both apply to the SERVER. You can add Neilm's Dynamic Menus to the standard User Interface. You download it to the proper subdirectory (c:\program files\sagetv\sagetv don't forget, 2 sagetvs), Setup>Advanced>Manage STVI Plugins. It will load the selected plugin and offer to make the new file your default menu file. Say yes. (This is what I do) Or you can download SageMC (yes, I know it's confusing) 16x9 REPLACEMENT User Interface, which has Dynamic Menus and lots of other stuff built-in. Once this is downloaded you CHANGE your UI (STVi Package) to SageMC_169.xml. In either case, your SERVER is ready but your HD200 is not. Go into SETUP/ADVANCED on the HD200 in Extender Mode and select the same UI (SageMC_169 or SageTV3-withimports). Now you can edit your menus and delete the stuff you don't want. |

appreciate the feedback. Iwill give this a shot later tonight. I did try to run in standalone mode, but for some reason the HD-200 was giving me errors when i tried playing my .ts files. using the hd-200 thru the media center all my movies play fine.
Thanks again |

Just to be clear here, you can change the STV in standalone mode, it's just that to my knowledge, nobody has made a custom STV for standalone mode.
