SageTV overview ?

Back in the day (2000 - 2004) as a R+D developer at Intel I sat thru many early reviews of HDMI Spec. - fleshing out media extender architecture - etc. I've since moved on and years have passed ... but I recall many good visuals used in meetings to get people on the same page.

This connects to this -- here is a hardware stack example - Software stack - etc.

A high level graphical overview of this technology / product would help get noobs on the same page. I've poked around the site and not found anything. And I've seen a few posts "I'm a technical person but have never done DVR ... confused ... etc."


On the flip side I want to really say thanks to all the folks who have cheerfully responded to my basic questions. This looks like a great product and great support community. I see a SageTV setup at our home by mid-July-ish.

I think this is one case where SageTV could actually learn from Snapstream. Snapstream's basic company website has a nice overview of the products and some nice tools to help decide what system will work etc.

So yes I agree the website for sagetv.com needs to be refreshed a bit. I'm writing a series on getting started with SageTV for GeekTonic that should begin very soon so hopefully that will help fill the void for those exploring HTPCs and possibly getting started with SageTV for the meantime.
