Stuttering Video?

Howdy all,

I have issues where as I'm watching a video playback (usually AVIs via Imported Videos) the video playback stutters every so often. The audio will play normally but the video will pause for 2-3 seconds and then go in fast forward to catch up.

I'm running Sage 5 on a P4 1.8 or so machine with 1 gig of memory.

I have a P4 2.8 that I might setup and swap it out or I could try adding more memory to my existing machine. I'm wondering which might solve the problem.

I'm leaning towards trying going to 2 gigs of memory from 1 to see if that helps enough as reconfiguring everything in Sage on a new PC would take a while. Anyone else had this problem to know if that would work or would the faster machine be more likely to solve the problem.

Thanks.

Are you watching on the server, client or an extender?

Are you using two monitors - Primary monitor has the Start menu and you're putting Sage playback on the second monitor? DirectX doens't do well if you're doing that.

Are you using Overlay or VMR? What version of DirectX and Java do you have?
