Color bars between channels.
Brand new to SageTV and the PVR market. Have a few things I need help on.
ASUS A7V133 AMD TBird 1GHz 1GB SDRAM PVR-350 (using hardware decode and TVout) Gforce2 GTS Windows XP Pro 1) When I change channels, I get the color bars briefly between changes. Then the audio "pop" (which I fixed), and finally some lag. The most annoying aspect is the color bars. I am using "great" compression. (does this change on the fly, or do I have to restart SageTV to change compression?) Funny thing is, when I first installed all I got was the pop! No bars. I have even removed all the Hauppage software and the SageTV software and can't get back to "Pre color bars". 2) When I first boot up Sage TV, it doesn't display on the 350 TVout till I switch to Live TV and pick a channel. (even with full screen mode). Anyway to make this seamless? I want to eventually remove my video card completely, or at least remove the monitor so that this can stand alone. 3) Well done on the software so far! |

I assume you fixed the pop with the fast mux = false? If so, the fast mux=true is suppose to aid in making the channel change faster. Without it there is a breif time of no video. When there is no video the 350 displays the color bars.

I fthat is the case, I could use the Audio pause to mute the sound a second or so, right?
Is this a preference that requires a reboot or is it usable imediately? |

Does the audio delay even effect the direct output of the PVR-350?
Or would this be only for a sound card output, because I noticed that the volume control for SageTV has no effect. |

I too have seen the color bars when changing channels and also have the pop in the audio at the same time. What is this audio mux thing. I would like to try that. The popping noise is annoying to say the least.

With fast mux = false, you will see the bars until the new mpeg file is created and displayed but not hear the pop.

::brainproxy where did you see this option? I think it would be nice when not only changing channels but exiting time scrolling or even just fast fowarding to have a 1 second mute of audio |

Actually no. According to Narflex, he already mutes the sound when we change channels

It would be nice if we could adjust this in milliseconds though

And I think a black screen would look much better than the color bars when no video.
