Exclamation SageTV is Recording Everything!

Got a bit of weird problem, I just check on my server, and its hard drives are full. Looking at SageTV, it has about 3000 recordings scheduled, which I assume is everything on TV! What could have caused this and what's the easy way to totally erase the schedule instead of having to delete all of those manually?

It sounds like either you enabled Intelligent Recording or perhaps somehow added a Favorite using a keyword such as "the" or some commonly used category name.

Hmm, I haven't touched the server for a week, (I just set it up). I used place shifter (I'm not at home now) to check and the Intelligent Recording is disabled. I'll check the favorites to see if that it issue. How do I delete all those scheduled recordings though? I can delete the recorded files, but it will just record more...

What do the scheduled recordings looks like? Are they outlined in white like a Favorite or Manual Recording, or do they have no outline? (Are you using the default STV? If not, switch to it to see what is happening.) If they are from a Fav 7 you delete the Fav, they will be removed from the schedule.

What does the options menu show if you use the Record command while one of them is highlighted?

I've attached a screen shot of what the schedule looks like.

The recording options are in the 2nd screenshot. I have the options to Add Manual Recording, Remove this Favorite, Adjust Favorite. Are these being recorded as favorites?

I just checked the favorites and there was a favorite with "" in it, so I'm assuming that is the issue. I got rid of it, but all the recordings that were scheduled because of the favorite are still there. How do I get rid of those?

Either you just need to wait for the schedule to update (but that should be done fairly soon after removing the Fav), or you still need to look for more Favorites. You can continue checking to see what is causing a show to record via the Record command or just go to the Favorites Manager menu.

Hmm, the recordings are still there, but when I go to the recording option menu, there is an option to add it as a favorite, so that's not the reason why it is still there. Will restarting the SageTV service help (I'm on WHS)? Or is there some file I can delete that will get rid of the recordings? I don't mind losing the other scheduled recordings.

I'm going to guess that somehow a keyword favorite got set up for the letter 'S'.

Now that there has been plenty of time for the schedule to completely update, is there still a problem?
