HD200 Soft Image.
I have noticed the HD200 image on my LG LCD TV's appears to be a little soft. This is compared to a direct output from our SageTV server using an (old) ATI-9500 video card. The video card is using DVI-HDMI to the TV.
The HD200 has been connected to the TV via Component or HDMI @720P, 1080I. In all cases the image appears quit a bit softer than the direct server connection. Has anyone else noticed this?? PS: we also have a Netflix/Roku box connected via Component and the image is VERY sharp compared to the HD200. |

Are you talking about the menus or the video? I don't know where it was originally posted but the menus are not rendered at full 1080p as they would be on a computer with SageTVClient.

FWIW: I noticed no difference going from a server with nVidia 6150 on board chip set driving a panny plasma via DVI. To an HD200 driving same panny plasma via HDMI-DVI dongle. Wasn't looking for a change per-se. But things seem as crisp as the always did. this is on ATSC OTA recorded content. And assorted MKVs and AVI streamed from the network.

Indeed the soft image can be seen in the menues, videos I'm not sure (at work now) I'll check it out.
Unfortunatly I'm not the only one that has noticed the softer image. |

The video should be the same as it was on the PC. Its unfortunate but the the resolution limit on the menus is due to limitations in the hardware. Does it really matter that the menus are not as clear as they were on the PC? It's not as if the reason for getting the HD200 was to look at menus all day.
