Mounting question
So I got my HD200 working, and using it for a tv infront of the treadmil. I had to use Linksys Powerline AV, and it streams HD no problem. My question is how to mount the HD200 box. I'm wondering if anyone's had theirs vertically, cause I'd like to wall mount it, but don't really see a way to do so.
Thanks, Mike |

I'm thinking these would work quite well:

underside of the control panel for the treadmill, that's how I have my mvp. that way it can be moved around the house as one unit as necessary.

How did you attach it? I'm going to look at my treadmill and see if cable (zip) ties would work. How does the remote work not being in line of sight?

sticky velcro. I hung the front end of it down just below the bottom of the panel so it could see the remote. MVPs are pretty good with ir, don't know about hd extenders. A strategically placed small mirror might help too.

Alternative method
If you took the unit apart to the bare bones to just the bottom of case only, and then brought the bottom piece out to the garage and drill 2 spaced apart, round holes, then use your Dremmel to carve a notch on the appropriate side of each hole (facing the same way), so the holes then look like old fashion key-holes, which is just like the holes that many routers have on them already where they allow you to put screws on any surface, and align the device over those screws, and then push like 1/4" the one way and the device locks into the screws. Just make sure you clean any metal shavings out of the case with compressed air before reassembling the unit. This may void warrantee as well (my personal warning), but I wouldn't necessarily let that stop me. See if it has a seal that has to be broken in order to get the case open. YOu also need to make sure that the screws, when engaged, don't contact anything inside the case that could cause a short. A mod, not for the novice technician
This could also be a suggestion to manufacturing, as a low-cost feature to add onto future models . Last edited by ojosch; 05-06-2009 at 02:38 PM. |

I guess I later got to thinking (I do occasionally do this sometimes), and I suppose breaking the case seal (if there are one) would not matter since even if it did not have a seal to break, it would be obvious that there are drill holes in the unit, which would I'm sure, void any replacement down the line, so to update my last post, *ONLY* try this if you do not have warranty, or do not care about any warranty.

That's a great idea as well. Don't sweat taking it apart either. I've had my wireless one completely in pieces several times while trying to get it to run off of a playstation battery, and it still works fine. If you can handle a philips head, you're all set.
