just installed 2.14 and when executing the program I get "An exception occured inJava: java.lang.NullPointerException" error. Uninstalled and re loaded with same results. I have had great results with v2.13. Any help out there?

Is your java installation up to date?

I have the same problem. I installed the latest Java and still have the problem. I had backed up all the 2.13 stuff and tried a clean install and it will work. It will also install if one deletes the 2.13 wiz file and properties file. Those solutions do not appeal to me so I am waiting a day or so to see if someone comes up with another solution. Despite all the complaining around here I kinda like 2.13..... maybe thats why I am stuck with it!!

I ran into this when some files were marked read only for some reason. Double check that none of the files are marked read only...I went in circles until I noticed this. Not sure it is related to your problem. Specifically wiz.* and sage.* files.

I have to admit I gave up. Deleted the old stuff and reinstalled. It worked for one usage then on restart I get the Java error again.

As I said this seems to be casued by a setting in the sageproperties file. Close sage, delete both the sage.properties and the sage.properties.backup. Restart sage and it should work

Well. I deleted everything and reinstalled. For me, it works until you reboot the machine and then it dies.

Love Sage but hate the Beta. I've struggled through them all.
I have reinstalled everything and I keep getting a null pointer java error. Sage is generating those Sage1.txt etc and all sorts of stuff is not found.

It will work the first couple of times but then won't restart if you edit some of the options. I can't quite figure out which ones because it seems variable.

I am back to .13 beta but I sure would like to use the new one. Other than reinstall (which I have done), reinstall java (which I have done) Install over the old beta (which I have done) and scanning for viruses does anyone have any other ideas?

I did.

I suspect it is a problem with either the overlay or the new transparent quide settings or hardware only decoding. These are the only two I have not changed in my trial and error to try to get it to work. As I don't really care about these two and have been frustrated I haven't tried changing them to see if it will still work.

Thanks for the try though.

The tansparent guide setting should not casue a problem as it is just an illusion. Notice how you cannot se thru the letters? Its the same guide absent the old backgrond.

Do you guys have more than one version of Java installed? The current installers do not uninstall older versions of SDK and this causes a conflict with Sage...only one version should be installed. You need manually uninstall older versions. I had some crazy problems and Java errors (that tech support couldn't solve) untill I realized this and then everything worked perfectly. Not sure why Java installers are installing over top of older versions instead of in place of them - guess some people want both SDKs running. But something to check out. Worked for me.
