I think I answered my own question down listener and up listener count from a different row apparantly.

Would still like to make sure I don't need a refresh after and I am calling it okay by calling it after/under the listener.

Okay I can't figure out why this expression is not working I know the math is right but on the if expression i get a null instead of true or false. I tried *1 or get as integer but nether of those worked either

It's the '*-1' at the end. Instead, try using

scrolllock = -(expression)

I use this trick all the time to make sure I'm getting what I'm supposed to out of my expressions. This would tell you right away that scrolllock is null (because the text showing the value would not be displayed). You could then work on the expression until the text shows the intended value. You should also make sure you set Studio to show errors (checkbox in the tools menu, I think).
