HD100 HDMI connection problems
I am having a problem with my HD100 in that it doesn't always successfully connect via HDMI to my TV i.e. there appears to be no signal getting through. I have to switch the TV and HD100 off, then switch the HD100 on and then switch the TV on after a wait of a few seconds. Once it connects OK it is fine.
If I switch the TV into standby and leave the HD100 running and then a bit later switch the TV on I can get the same problem i.e. no picture. I then have to go through the switching off and on procedure. In my HD200 there is a setting from the Settings main menu entry; 'Advanced Setup | Multimedia | Force HDMI Display mode' (which I have enabled) - there does not seem to be an equivalent setting for the HD100. Is this because this option only refers to the non-SageTV Server part of the HD200? I can just about cope with this idiosyncrasy but the WAF is at a low level and a solution would make my life easier Any thoughts on how to resolve this would be appreciated |

I am having the exact same problem. But I think I will switch it with the one I have on an SDTV with S-video and see if the problem occurs there as well.

I had this problem when I ran my HDMI into my AV receiver so I could use HDMI switching. Whenever I would switch from one HDMI source to another sometimes the HD100 source would be black and I'd have to turn off the extender and/or the TV to get it to resync. Since then I am just using the spdif audio to the receiver and the HDMI directly to the TV. More steps to switch sources but I have logitec harmony to handle all the switching and I haven't seen the issue since.

Yeah, that was happening to me as well with my hdmi switching receiver. I sent the HD100 in to Sage because they wanted to try cutting some tracers on the motherboard for the HDMI connection as they may have been over powering the signal.
In the end, it ended up not solving the problem and then by adding an HDMI switch between my HD extender and the receiver, it solved the problem. I have since purchased the HD200 and moved this HD100 to another TV directly through HDMI and this same problem started up again a few months ago, but it was inconsistent. To make a long story short, I switched it with a newer HD100 and put the problematic HD100 (I think this was from the first batch sold) on the SDTV using s-video and the problem is solved. |
