Overlay and VMR9 don't appear to work with ATI 8500

Same problem. If I use the default renderer, the OSD, menus, and EPG are all blue opaque and don't refresh properly.

If I use overlay, I get completely transparent.

If I use VMR9, I get blue opaque and the video detaches from the GUI and plays in a windows called Active movie

Factor out the new transparent features and basically the VMR9 and overlay have not worked for any of the betas for me using the ATI 8500.

You say you are using the default renderer. Have you gone in and chosen a specific renderer such as Hauppague, Intervideo, or Cyberlink ATI? Of course depending on what you have installed.

I'm sorry-I meant video decoder. Try using vmr or overlay with different video decoders.

Interesting. The VMR9 and translucent display works with the Hauppage intervideo decoder.

Howerver, the imaage quality isn't as good as with the RAVISENT, which is hardware accerated under the 8500.

VMR does work, for me, with PowerDVD's cyberlink.

Thanks. I'm going to report this to Sage and look at different decoders.

The best situation, for me, would be the ability to control the opacity of the overlay. The video quality difference between the Hauppage and RAVISNET decoders is just to great in favor of RAVISENT.

do you have the new ATI cyberlink decoder
it works with VMR 9 and 3d accel
warning though unless you want to reinstall it do not change mpeg mode and deinterlace mode from default
I did it and it does not work anymore until I reinstall
It works though in ready other render, you can change anything you want
