Vacation Mode...
Hi,
Is there a way in SageTV to not record favorite programs for a certain period of time? I have quite a few favorites and some of the favorites record daily (business news). For the time I'll be away, I want to keep recording some favorites, such as Scrubs, but not the daily news shows. I don't want to delete the news shows favorites as it would be cumbersome to add back in, but want to set to not record while I'm away. I hope I didn't confuse anyone.

Set them to Keep At Most some small number, with Autodelete turned off. Sage will stop recording them when that number of recordings is reached. Or leave Autodelete turned on and it will record new episodes but delete the old ones to stay under the Keep At Most number.
Or if you don't want it to record at all, temporarily restrict it to some random channel or timeslot where there are no airings of that show.

I use the 'Keep At Most' set to 1 with Autodelete enalbed for news programs. That way if I don't get around to watching it on any given day it just gets deleted rather than wasting disk space (I have no interest in watching yesterday's news).

Thanks! I'll have to set it up like then before I leave.

An alternative to changing recording settings that you will then need to change back at a later time would be to set your guide look ahead time to encompass the amount of time you are gone for (eg. 7 days instead of the standard 3).
Then review all of your upcoming recordings and set the ones you don't want to record to Watched and they won't record leaving you with nothing to adjust when you get home. -Striker- |
