SageTV V4.1 rec problems, recordings display wrong length or time passes too quickly

Hi, My sage install has been working great until about a month ago. An increasing number of recordings are displaying either that they are only 7 - 10 minutes long (when they are really an hour or longer)
Or they will display as an hour long but time progresses at 30 recorded seconds per every real second.
The recordings play at normal speed until they hit the hour or the end of the recording and then they stop.
I am able to play them in VLC player (one shows to be 18 seconds long but plays for an hour) VLC also sees that it is an 18 second recording but plays the entire hour. (Files are also full size as well. An hour recording is around 1.6GB)
SageTV V4.1.13.87
Java Version 1.6.0_13
Current STV File: SageTV3.xml
Conexant 2388x Video Capture
Default Quality: DVD extra long play
MPEG2 Video Decoder Filter
SageTV MPEG video Decoder

Thank you for any help you can give me!

If i had to guess, your capture card is going. However, I doubt you will find too many here running 4.1 anymore so it is difficult for us to help you. You can upgrade to 5.0.4 for free and see if that fixes your problem. Obviously upgrading to 6+ will cost you the upgrade fee.

Follow this link to 5.0.4 which I believe was the last release version for version 5 (could be wrong tho):

Is it a Hauppauge card? This sounds like the same Hauppauge timeline problem that I had and a bunch of others have had as well. Search the forums for "Hauppauge" and "registry", you'll find threads about it, it's two registry entries and for most people putting those in and rebooting eliminates the problem for new recordings. Your existing recordings, unfortunately, are toast (the ones that have the problem anyway)

Found a thread for u: http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/show...574#post257574

Thank you for your help!!!

I upgraded to the 5.0 that you linked to, just attempted to playback one of the previously "screwed up" recordings and it played back PERFECTLY. Thank you so very much for your help!!!

Your help is VERY much appreciated!

Pillow, I do not think it is a Hauppanage card. It came with a media center with strange drivers. (Had to use the system restore to recover the existing drivers)
So far installing the version 5 on top of the version 4.1 seems to have fixed the playback issue. I'll keep posting if I find any other errors or if I find that my existing recordings are screwed up.

Thank you!
