HD200 Not Connecting to Server

I'm new to this Sage stuff, so ive been reading alot on here trying to figure it out but I still can't get this to work 100%. I installed SageTv on my server and have tested the connection through my network with another computer running placeshifter and it worked. BUT i can't get the HD200 to connect. First I had a hard time getting it to FIND the server on the network, but now at least it's coming up in the list. When i go to connect, it pops up the window saying connecting to... and then the tv screen goes blank, the hdmi signal is lost and SOMETIMES after a few seconds it will come back up with the splash page saying Extender and connecting to server with the Sage logo, BUT THAT'S IT, it just freezes. If i just let it sit there, eventually it will turn itself off. when i turn it back on, it startes stand alone. OR if i power it off it won't turn back on with the remote, so i need to do a hard reboot.
someone tell me what to try, im frustrated.

OH, i forgot, i think its still related to the network itself because even tho i got the second computer to connect, on the HD200 when i try the file browser, i can't get the files on the server to show up, but i can see the other computer and network. if i click on it, i get an invalid directory message.

well i kinda figured out that this only works from a server thats hardwired to my router, NOT using a wireless connection. as soon as i moved it and pluged it into the router, it connected fine. whats weird is that even with it on a wireless connection the sage still sees it and the ip address comes up in the list, but won't connect. weird.
