"NO" Component-out from HD 200
I'll try and make this short and to the point.
We are replacing/upgrading our MVP!! I received the HD200 yesterday, plugged it in w/HDMI to our 42" LG/LCD and connected analogue audio to a Onkyo receiver. Updated the firmware - voila! Great color, contrast - great picture!! Workes great with our Sage Server (6.3.10). Keystrokes seem significantly quicker. Issues: - HDMI has an annoying pause when it negotiates with a device. (we don't watch TV thru Sage, so I programmed a macro key on our remote which switch's to the TV guide in Sage when watching TV). - the HD200 seems to constantly go into sleep/standby! I have clicked/unclicked checked this board - I cannot find how to turn it off. Soooo all that having been said, I'll defeat the HDMI delay by using component. It might also negate the annoying standby in the HD200. The composite works, HDMI works,..... "component does not" - switched resolutions - tried the unplug/plug-in "delete" key reset - different cable, different inputs........ The SageTV logo comes up, but will not display the "Main Menu" screen when using component on/off-line. Any other resets available, anybody had this problem?? Thanks |

You may want to contact support directly. I have no issues with my HD200. I don't know what you're referring to when you say there is a pause on HDMI. It doesn't sound like anything I've experienced with my HD200.
Also, the HD200 works best with at least SaveTV 6.5.9 although I suggest the latest beta version.

The "pause" I refer to is actually a slight delay, that exists when switching TV inputs from non-HDMI to HDMI. From my understanding the "delay" is caused by the TV determining if it needs to upscale or not.
Should have called it a "delay". |

Is it just the initial handshaking that bothers you?

While connected via HDMI, go in and change your video output type to component. Power down the extender, switch your cables, and power back up. I had the same problem with my HD100 when I switched from a TV hooked up via HDMI to a tv without HDMI (okay it had HDMI, but not an available HDMI port). I gott nothing but a black screen because it was trying to ouput over HDMI since that is what I set my unit to output to.

FIXED..........
Unfortunatly the "handshaking" sometimes causes the uninformed to impatiently press remote buttons. We will endeavor to teach the uninformed to be more patient! I did change the HD200 output to component, power it down, restart and all is well. Thank you paulbeers. Thanks again........ |

That's why a programmable remote like the Logitech Harmony is handy since it does all the control. Of course, the other family members know how to use it and know that they have to keep the remote pointed until everything is up. The only problems I have ever run into is that one time, for whatever reason, the input on the TV had not been where the remote expected it to be and caused a bit of frustration with the SO. The other problem I ran into is that I believe the power went out or flickered and caused the input on my Z-680 speakers to change and again causing frustration with the SO. Had to step her through re-enabling the speakers on the TV as a temporary fix. But it usually works as expected.
