Does your PC have a VGA or PCIe x16 slot? If so, you can disable the onboard Intel graphics (ugh!) and drop in a real graphics card with DVI or HDMI out.

Don't get too discouraged! It sometimes can take some tweaking to get SageTV to working right. I never owned Tivo before, but from what people say about it, SageTV blows it away.

There are DVI->VGA adapters out there. Typically they come with video cards and are used to convert a DVI output on a video card to a VGA input on a monitor.
I'm honestly not sure what would happen if you tried to send the signal in the reverse direction. If you've got the open slot to upgrade your video card, thats the best way to go because chances are your onboard video isn't going to do that great of a job anyway. -Striker- |

No, VGA is analog, DVI is digital. The DVI connector can push an analog signal and connect to a VGA port with an adaptor but not the other way around.
Does the graphics card not have a DVI port or are we talking itegrated graphics? If integrated I'd seriously consider dropping $50 or so on a low end graphics card. They all support h.264 decoding and most will do HDMI in case you want to do Blue Ray from your computer, and are vastly superior to integrated graphics solutions. Another option is to go from VGA to component inputs (the three RCA Red/Green/Blue connection), which can be done with an adaptor from a VGA port.

Duct tape & paperclip time:
That computer shows an AGP slot in the specs....so you're looking at AGP cards from newegg if you want to spend the money on AGP. Monoprice has VGA to Component cables for $3, but warns about it working with computers. Eventually, old gear just becomes a PITA to get working with new tech. I'd either throw WHS on that box and run Sage Server there with an HD200, or build a cheap AMD 780/790 uATX based Server/Client Box...cannibalizing as much as I could from the IBM. P |
