If you're recording on an HDHomerun and sage or your server freeze or restart in the middle of a recording, I don't think the recording will pick up where it left off. The internal tuners like the 1600 and 1800 will however.
I had some issues with recordings getting deleted. I switched to a new single hard drive (instead of 4 200-400gb drives) and I haven't had a problem since. Not long after that my PVR-1600 card started showing 0% signal strength OTA. The analog side works fine but I guess the HD tuner side died. So I don't know if the dropped recordings were due to the drive or the tuner going bad...or maybe a combination of both. But might want to check that out, maybe use a different drive for recording for a while and see if you have problems still. As to why sageTV shut down...no idea there.
