Merging Two SageTV Server Databases

I've been looking for a way to put my two existing SageTV Servers together... I'll call them machine A and machine B for the purposes of this message.

I think I have found a way, but thought I would post about it here to see if I'm going to run into any issues. Here's my plan:

1. Using the WebServer Plugin, export the recordings XML file from machine A.
2. Move the data from from machine A to machine B. (Transplanting the hard drive is my plan)
3. Using the WebServer Plugin again, import the recordings XML file onto machine B.
4. Done

Are there any issues with this? Anything that I'm missing? Any features that I'll be missing by doing this that I've not thought about?

I do realize that I'll lose the watch history on machine A, but will Sage on machine B at least realize that it has recorded the shows that I've imported from machine A? (So it won't re-record them, once the favorites are added)

Is there a better way to merge these two servers????

Thanks,
Paul

I'd wonder if that "import" function erases the prior database and replaces it with the one being imported.

I thought about that, but didn't think that it would be terribly useful if it wiped out your existing info... But, I don't know for sure...

It actually looks like this Web server plugin is exactly what I need. It imports favorites too, and "TV Airings". A wiki page showed that "TV Airings" can have several flags: watched, don't like, a manual recording. So, it looks like the watched history can be imported too! Sweet!

The Import screen itself has checkboxes related to overwriting existing info... It looks like you just uncheck those boxes and it will simply add that info to your existing database.

Great news all around! Now, if I can just figure out a way to disable parental controls for a specific client...
