Closed captioning, how to turn off?

I have tried to use vmr9 and now I have CC on my shows.
Does anyone know how to get rid of them? I didn't see them using overlay with overlay color keying as the manual says they wouldn't (appendix K).

I couldn't find anything in setup.
These are things I found in properties, they already seem to be turned off
cc_option_enabled=false
mmc/enable_cc_for_hauppauge_cards=false
compression/caption_wait=false

While the video is playing use the Options command (button on your remote or Ctrl-O) and turn it off.

Are they subtitles & you are using the v6.5.12 beta? If so, the subtitle turn-off option can be missing. That will be fixed in the next beta.

Is your decoder set to "Default"? If so, then according to one of the similar threads listed below, try selecting a decoder instead of leaving it at default.

Thank you opus,

I had mixed results with non default decoders
intervideo, still has captions
nvidia, still has captions
Nvidia post.. , NO captions
Sage decoder, NO captions

I had tried that before but, I had tried one of the other decoders that still had the captions.
At least I have two that are working.

Thanks again Gplasky and Opus.
I will be looking forward to the next beta.
