Is ArcSoft TME required for headless WHS server?

I run HD-100s exclusively off my WHS server, and am trying to add HD-PVRs to the server. Can I just install the updated Hauppage drivers for the HD-PVR without the ArcSoft TME software? I can't find the supplied install CD with ArcSoft TME on it.

thx.

That's what I did, just the Hauppauge Drivers (though my server is Server 2003).

Yes you are correct if you don't intend to setup the tv signal or view it on the WHS you don't need tme.

I do plan to use the HD-PVR to capture from my STB. Is that what you mean by "setup the TV signal"?

Yes since you won't be able to decode without the tme software on the server set your signal up on a extender/client

The answer is yes. Unless you are also trying to view video on WHS. (Which I would recommend against. WHS is a headless server solution to be used as your backend media server) Changes to the audio input (analog or SPDIFfor the HD-PVR) can be made with Sage.

You DO NOT need Arcsoft TME on the headless server. The HD-PVR sends an encoded signal to the server and Sage simply(not really) writes it to a file. The only purpose for the Arcsoft TME software is to decode that file. It's only needed on the client.

I was simply impling not to set up the tv signal from the whs computer but from a client/extender. Because you won't be able to view the feed during setup directly on the whs.
