HD PVR and Comcast Motorolla DCH3200 - Not Changing Channels

I am using Comcast for the Maryland area. I get a great picture using the Hauppauge HD PVR (Driver version 1.0.5.3). I am using Sage 6.5 and everything works great except the fact that I can't change channels.

When I click up or down on Sage it changes the channel number on screen but no on the STB which is a Motorolla DCH3200. I know that the Hauppauge doesn't have the 3200 from it's dropdown list on IR blaster.

Is there a workaround to get the IR Blaster to control the Motorolla 3200? Is there a different STB from Comcast in the MD area that supports HD and the Hauppauge HD PVR?

Anyone with experience thanks very much in advance.

Is this a way of changing channels via firewire? Or can I use the IR remote with this?

FYI I also have another hauppauge card installed on the machine but not hooked up.

It is the 1800 MCE.

Can I just use a standard Firewire cable or do I need something specific?

Will this work - The connector in the back of the STB is a 6 pin and so is my machine.

I'm using a 6 pin fw cable like that one that came with an external hard drive; haven't missed a channel change since moving over.

So I got the firewire cable as directed.

Problem is that I am running Vista 64 ultimate. When I plug in the STB Motorolla DCH 3200 into my computer, it prompts me for a driver.

I tried downloading the package from
http://exdeus.home.comcast.net/~exdeus/stbfirewire/

But Vista doesn't seem to like that driver. It may be a vista 64 only issue?

Any advice is always appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

You will need a x64 driver, not sure if one exists...

After looking around online. There is no supported x64 driver. Back to the drawing board for changing channels.

This really shouldn't be that hard.

Will a USB UIRT thing work with Vista 64 and the Motorola dch3200?

If there are x64 drivers, I don't know why it wouldn't work...

Finally got it working. Long story short, the IR blaster needs to be between the up and down channel changers.

It was simply a matter of moving it.

Thanks to all that read and replied.
