Frankly, the only way to test if the problem is caused by the Seagate 7200.11 drives is to try another brand and see if the problem reoccurs. Buy the drive from a retailer like Best Buy that doesn't charge a restocking fee and has a 30 day return policy. Copy the data from the Seagate to the new drive and replace or disconnect any other Seagate 7200.11 or Maxtors of the same generation. Seagate bought Maxtor 3 years ago so Maxtor drives are just relabled Seagates with a shorter warranty.

Something else I'm noticing with these computers is that when I double click on Internet Explorer it seems to take a LONG time to open (like 10-15 seconds) but once open it is quick to navigate between sites. Any ideas what this could be? I'm not seeing anything unusual in the task manager.
