How long will the HD-100 be supported?

I am thinking of purchasing the new 200, but was wondering how long these will be supported by the Sage software?

When Sage is as version 11 will they still support the HD-100? Is there any guidance or guarantee on how long these devices will last? I have a series 1 TiVo from over ten years ago and still use it. Will these last that long?

When SageTV 11 comes out, it'll be able to stream everything straight to your brain, so no need for extenders.

Seriously, I don't think SageTV knows the answer to that question. They can probably tell you that it is supported in the next version or two. Did you think Tivo knew the product will last 10 years?

The MediaMVP is still supported in Sage and the support for it was added over 3 years ago and I don't believe they have any plans to drop support for it.

"Directly to my brain".

Cute.

I just thought I'd ask. Whenever I buy new equipment I like to know what to expect from its "life" expectancy.

It could work indefinitely, if you don't need to upgrade for other reasons. Windows 3.1 still works after all these years too, but better choices come along.

Sage still supports the SD extender (Hauppauge MediaMVP), which I believe was introduced in version 4.1.
