ripped dvd playback

Hi everyone,

I just started ripping my dvd collection on my windows home server and playing through sage in my living room. But a few minutes after the movie starts it just freezes. This doesn't happen when i play it through Windows media center.

Also cant use the menu to start the movie. please help a newbie. Thanks

provide a few more details about how you're ripping them, what format, etc.

What is your playback setup?

placed in the videos share on the WHS in a TS folder ripped as VOB files. Using DVD manager plugin for automated ripping and My Movies to manage meta data.

playback setup=ripping and storage on WHS and streaming to sage on windows 7 machine in living room.

As stated before plays no problem in windows 7 media center. Thanks

If u try to FF thru the previews it will freeze sometimes. You need to skip forward just far enough that you don't go all the way thru the previews,then let it finish playing on its own. On some ripped disks I can press 'dvd menu' right away and go right to it. The physical DVD's seem to freeze up more.

this is not what is happening. I can start to play the movie and a few minutes in, it freezes.
