WD Sharespace NAS

Anyone looked at this ?

http://www.westerndigital.com/en/company/releases/PressRelease.asp?release={9E174D63-E6F6-489A-BE41-5916B1B49D6A}

8Tb ought to satisfy most needs for a while. $1700 might be a bit steep however.

Wonder if it would play nice with Sage ?

retail, 4x2TB drives would be around $1200, so $500 for the 4-bay NAS seems about right compared to competitors like Thecus and such....

I'd rather save the 500 (or 330) and use WHS...

Has anyone been able to get their Western Digital ShareSpace NAS drive to talk to their HD200 or even SageTV MC servers?

I recently purchased a 4tb model and I can see it, access it, copy DVDs to it from any computer on the network, but for some reason I keep getting invalid directory errors when I try to access it from our two HD200 units and our SageTV MC server! I'm running the most current versions of Beta Firmware and software for the units/server.

The funny this is I don't have any problems with the WD WorldBook I and II editions of their NAS drives!

I put in a trouble request in yesterday, but with the holiday week, I thought perhaps someone else may have found a work around or solution to this problem.

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!

Todd

I'm also interested in hearing if anyone has one of these working with Sage. I understand they use WD Caviar Green drives, which I've heard Sage doesn't like too well. The price is dropping on these, though. 8TB down to $1299 retail.

I'm using WD Green drives in my WHS box for SageTV and having no issues.
