Playing Media Files with Sage Offline

I would like to use Sage to playback videofiles on my laptop (from my laptop's hard drive) while on an airplane. Obviously this would be offline. Can I do this using Placeshifter (I am guessing not since you can't use Placeshifter unless you are connected to a server, right?) or would this require a Client license or a full license?

The original source of the files would be Sage TV recordings, ripped DVDs, etc.

The reason to use Sage, rather than something like WMP or VLC, is that I am used to Sage, I can use Comskipped files and Sage is better at stuff like skipping ahead 30 secs with the click of a button.

Neither Placeshifter nor Client will work without a server connection, so you'll need another full license. Once you have it set up on the laptop, copy over your Wiz.bin plus whatever recordings you want from your server, and you'll be able to access them from the normal SageTV Recordings screen instead of having to Browse Media Files for them.

That's what I was worried about - I don't know if I want to pay $80 to occasionally watch some files offline. There should be a Sage Playback lite client that would only work to play back content from a local drive, or an option to use Placeshifter without requiring a connection to the server.

I am not too worried about using files from wiz.bin since I would likely have a very limited number of files and browsing would work fine.
