Hope it's OK to revive an old thread, but it seems appropriate and related to a minor problem I have. Sage runs 24/7 on a machine in my office, been that way for a few years without problems. I use a combination of remotes (for an STB) and mouse to control Sage. My problem is the software for the Magic Jack installed last month steals focus from Sage whether it's running full screen or in a window. I read that the software writes back to the adapter every three minutes for some reason, which coincides with loss of focus of the Sage window. I lose the ability to change volume, change aspect, go full screen, etc. with a 54 key Hauppauge remote when it happens. I tried the instructions of using the Hap remote w/o focus, with the sendmessage remote.ini, but I could never get it to work. Do you guys have a problem with the Magic Jack software? I was thinking of running MJ as a service, but I don't know if that will fix the problem. I'm using a Hap IR receiver but I have a USB-UIRT that I stopped using last year - maybe that would continue to work after MJ does it's thing?
Thanks!
Rob

I run MJ as a service on my server, granted you seem to be running a few things more then me, I only have an ATI HD wonder and HD homerun on mine for 3 total OTA tuners, but never had any isssues. Well one, when I reboot the server, I have to login to it via RDT before the magic jack service will boot up. Maybe they have a fix for that now, but to be honest I havent had any time or checked their forums in quite awhile now.

Thanks for the ideas, what I ended up doing was to run MJ as a service. I lose the pop-up window with calls, names, etc., but I don't miss it. Phone works fine and Sage doesn't lose focus so remote continues to work regardless of what MJ is doing.
Thanks!

I have had vonage for 2+ years and have never had a single problem, props to time warner/roadunner as well. I have dialed 911 for a car accident outside my house, worked fine, they were able to verify my address. As big as voip is, I really think we would be hearing a lot more life threatening stories in the media if that were a real issue. Seems like every time I do hear about it, the person didn't update their address.
